It's Lime Time

John put out 3 tons of Pulverized Lime in the back pasture, garden and power line yesterday. Our soil samples were ridiculously low in pH this year. So, Friday he will get another lime buggy to finish the back pasture and then will apply another dose this fall. We hope to have the back plowed in by early next week and planted soon after that. It is just too risky to wait until fall to plant the back due to the steep terrain in some areas. Erosion would be rough on the pasture and the creek below. We are praying for a break in the drought this summer in hopes the grass will make it through the hot summer and not have to be replanted this fall.
